Ketubah "The king's Shushan" - Hand painted with gold
This floral ketubah is a one of a kind piece of jewish art hand painted with watercolor, gold and pearl color especially for your wedding! Roses are mentioned several times in the Song of Songs and in the Bible.
In the Song of Songs it is written:
"I am the blossom of the garden, the rose of the deep" (Song of Songs 2:1).
"As a rose among the thorns, so am I among the daughters" (Song of Songs 2:2).
In the Book of Malachi it is explained that the pillars in the Temple were decorated with roses, while according to the description of the painting they were white roses:
"... and its thickness was like a veil, and its rim was like the work of a cup, a lily flower.. (1 Kings 7:26).
However, the Gemara explains that today's rose is not the same rose that was spoken of in the Bible. Rather, it is a flower with six petals, and in the discussion of the Gemara it is explained that it is actually what's called the lilys flower. Throughout history, this flower in blue color was also the symbol of the monarchy in the world. That is why I chose this flower to adorn this ketubah, because bride and groom are like a prince and a princess! You could choose to order an original handmade watercolor painting and gilding of this ketubah or to order a lithography (giclee print) of my original watercolor painting printed on acid-free cotton matt paper 240 gr at a printing house that specializes in museum-quality giclee art printing. The Gold I used is pure gold powder 24K I mix by myself to be used in painting or immitation gold painting which looks similar. On both the original and the print, the gilding will be hand-painted.
