For this ketubah I chose grapevines like the bible verses: “grapevines joining grapevines”, describing a divine pairing, a fitting and good match between a couple who are perfectly suited to each other, like fine grapes that come from the same type of vine. The vine is also one of the seven species. The people of Israel are likened to the vine because the vine improves over time and becomes more and more delicious, just like the people of Israel. Grapes were chosen, a symbol of abundance, as it is written in the Psalms: “Your wife is like a fruitful vine in the courtyards of your house.”
You could choice to order this piece with or without gold leaf (24K gold or imitation gold). The gilding is handmade with gold leaf on an archival giclée print of my original watercolor hand painting (lithography). The paper used is a high-quality 300 gr acid-free Italian paper.

There is a jewish tradition to write the sentence “בסימן טוב ובמזל טוב”, “בעזרת השם” – “In a good sign and with good luck”, “With God’s help” at the begining of a ketubah as you can see on the pictures, but if you prefer to write only the mention “שטר כתובה” please contact us after the order.
